I posted some photos I took of an eagle release that took place on Saturday on my Facebook but I thought I'd share them here.

There is a story out there about an eagle who was rescued by a Harley Davidson biker. Harley the eagle was rehabbed at the Raptor Center of Minnesota.  Here a few other links to good videos of the story:

Here's Harley when he arrived.  Not very flattering for an eagle.

Harley was strapped with a transmitter.  I hate transmitters on birds.   Angry

Here's a "good luck Harley" couple of photos.

There is a blog for Harley's tracking from the transmitter:

I love the whole story of Harley. What a happy ending. I am attaching a picture of two eagles at Lake Erie Metro Park yesterday. Thanks to all the people who cared for him, maybe Harley will be flying as joyfully as they were.

Thanks for the uplifting story Diane and for taking the trouble to post all the photos and links.  Harley should continue to provide interesting information, even though you don't like satellites !   Maple, your photograph is lovely.

Always great to hear of a release. The satellite can help us learn more about the eagle and help us to keep them safe plus so much more.  Fly free Harley and multiply!

Somehow I missed this thread - - Diane, thank you so much for all the wonderful photos and links to the videos. What a great outcome to this story. I checked the updates on the Raptor Center blog -- it's good to know they have been able to find where Harley has been. Hoping for a long and successful life for this beautiful eagle.

Thanks again for sharing this.

Great pic, Maple! The eagles do look as if they are really enjoying themselves.

This is sad news.  The Harley rider who rescued the eagle had a motorcycle accident and is in critical condition.
