The Blackwater eaglets are getting big . . . and little eaglet feet for Veronica:

I don't know if anyone has seen this short video from the Puleston osprey cam in New York, which captures a most unusual moment at an osprey nest. The male flies in with a fish for the female, but he has his talon stuck in the fish .  .  .

The male was seen at the nest later, so apparently he is okay.

Ouch!  I'm glad he's ok.  Linda

WOW!  That must have been an experience.  I'm sure glad someone saw him again.

The eaglets are growing up at Blackwater, and starting to feed themselves:

Spare a thought for this poor eagle at Willamette Pass in Oregon trying to incubate eggs in a blizzard today:

She's still incubating, and it's still snowing. What incredible dedication! I noticed her eating some of the snow from time to time.

Things are improving at the Willamette Pass - the snow is beginning to melt quickly:

I don't know if you know about this cam. The migration information is great because they follow birds with tracking devices. The falcons are now having fights over who mates with who and who gets the nest.

It looks as if there will be no ferruginous hawks to watch this year.  Sad

From their site:

"May 6, 2008:

Unfortunately the male that was seen adding sticks to the nest was unable to attract a female. It appears we will not be able to observe this rare hawk raise his family in 2008. We will post archived materials from past years soon."

Hi Maple! I like this cam too - partly because it is the closest thing I have to a "local" cam (I am in Alberta). I have posted a few pics from time to time on the "Miscellaneous Peregrines" thread, and thought I'd start a thread for this cam once the birds are there more regularly.
