I have been visiting the Duncan Mills site for about 6 months now, I did see 2 falcons on the Thales building (my pic files are too large to post) in August, 2011. One falcon was definately Quest, the other I couldn't be sure !
During the fall months, no sightings at all !
Earlier December on my lunch hour, I spotted Quest and had the pleasure of following her around for an hour !
Sunday Jan 29, I spotted Quest again - this time she had lunch and was on the corner of the building directly across from the nest ledge. She was plucking away for a good 10 minutes, but apparently I was interrupting her (the beeping from my camera) and she picked up her lunch and took it to the top of the Harlequin building .. I had to change positions of course and being way across the street zooming up, my pictures aren't great (even with a 300mm zoom lens)
I am totally in awe of these amazing birds and wish i could watch them all day - I only wish my bladder wasn't the size of a pea lol
I'll try to upload some pics and cross my fingers !

Thanx Pattimac, after watching her hatch it's great keeping up to date on her!  The "image" link if you have a free photobucket account will put them right in your post also and you don't have to worry about size.  Would love to see some when you get them.

If you have any questions on posting anything here, just ask and welcome!!  Smiley

Linda: the pleasures all mine, I'm fascinated by these magnificent raptors !
I work in the area, and there are also 4 red-tailed hawks - The hawks are much more friendly (or just don't care ??) I can be 20 ft from one, and it will just go about cleaning itself or eating -like i'm not even there. With Quest, 100 feet is too close and he just squawks alot then takes off .. such a shame not to be able to get closer!
PS: your Luke is a little sweetheart - what a face Smiley

Thanks very much Nora - it took me awhile to get a post up here, but only because I wasn't familiar with the site .. I'm going to check into that photobucket, hopefully that'll solve my 'file too large' problems ... I have pics of the Red-Tails I'd love to show off !
Is that a baby peregrine you're holding in the pic !!?? How the heck did you manage to get so lucky !??

Well, I got much luckier with photos last week - the sun was out, it was quite mild and Quest didn't mind being photographed at all - On sunday (the 19th) I had the pleasure of watching 2 falcons chasing each other, diving - swirling - unfortunately my cameras just too slow to capture those speeds. One falcon was definately Quest - the other, I haven't a clue - I was happy to know that Quest wasn't alone all the time and that nothing had happened to the other falcon. After 1/2 hour they flew out of the area in hot pursuit of each other Smiley

I've not been having much luck posting here over the past couple of weeks - and just now, I lost my page AND my photos *sigh*
but i'm at it again - I don't give up that easily !
At home, I was watching the cam, and saw Quest in the nest, moving gravel around - so i grabbed the camera and got moving - pronto !
When I arrived, I saw 2 falcons chasing each other - got 1 (blurry) shot, parked the car and then saw Quest back in the nest, I heard the other falcon calling - from the top of the Harlequin building - quest flew right up there - but on the opposite corner, and with my 300 lens, its tough getting them both in the frame. I'll post the pics later in the week - promise !
Anyway - they stayed up there a good 45 minutes - one must've just finished dinner as there were feathers everywhere ! I'm just happy not to see Quest alone - the nest is clean & ready for some EGGS - fingers crossed !

Good news!  It appears that Kendal returned last Friday and has been seen at the nestbox, flying and mating with Quest in the past couple days.
