RRP Injured Raptor List

I am going to post under this thread whenever we get an injured bird in for transport elsewhere. I'll also post status if I get it. Each status update will be posted under that bird's initial information. If anyone is interested in getting on our call list of transport volunteers, please pm me. I need the following information from you:

Your Name
The City and State you live in
Phone Number
Email
Any other information I need. For example, if you only want to transport birds in eastern Iowa, or if you can never transfer birds on a Monday, please let me know.

On 1/04/11, Bob picked up an injured sharp-shinned hawk. The hawk had flown into a window and been blinded following the impact. We don't know if the blindness is permanent or temporary. Nora (some of you know her from the forum) is transporting the hawk to the Cedar Bend Humane Society in Waterloo, Iowa, for care. If I get any updates, I will post them here. Update: 1/9/12
Rehabber Terese Evans received the hawk. It has recovered its sight and is doing well. It will be released back into the wild sometime this week.
