In the last photo it looks as though a question is being asked of us...
Enough already! The kids have fledged and we can finally put our feet up!

I go down to Black Dog once or twice a week to check on the osprey that have nested there in the past.  This year the nest failed.  I still check to see who is around and if there are any new osprey trying to take over.  The osprey nest is near the plant where the BD peregrine nest is.  I still see the peregrine chicks!  I didn't realize I'd been hearing and seeing all 3 chicks until today when I caught a picture of the 3 on the plant.  I heard them vocalizing so they are still "playing" with each other.  I can really hear it when the parents have dinner.  What a racket they make!

Sorry that the osprey nest failed this year, Diane.  Thanks for the great photo of the Black Dog peregrines; I'm glad they're doing well.

Too bad that osprey nest failed.  Did you get the article I sent you about Jamaica Bay - beautiful osprey on the first page - this is an area that used to be garbage dumps - no they are working on improving the area and restoring the marshland.  Nice to see the that BD juvies are still around.

Thank you so much for the great photo of the three Black Dog juvies, Diane! It's good to know that they are still around and doing well.

I'm sorry that the osprey nest failed this year. Do you know what the reason might have been?

It's hard to tell Alison.  They started incubating really late so maybe the severe heat and humidity didn't allow them to maintain the egg temp properly.

Thank you, Diane. I think that makes a lot of sense.

According to the King Operator, one of the three Black Dog juvies was in care at The Raptor Center. Diane, since you caught a photo of all three in the nest area, can we conclude that the juvie who was in care was released back at the nest?

I thought that King Operator was referring to an injured juvie from the King plant. I apologize if I am incorrect.

There were injured juvies from Black Dog, King, and Sherco I believe.

Amy should answer who was found at BD.  She emailed me but she should answer.
