While I hate to see any nest box removed, Black Dog hasn't been the same for me since Nora (TF) died.

Yeeehaaaa!!!!!!!!!  Just posted in "what's new":

10/15/2009

Great news on Blackdog! Xcel Energy decided to put a screen over the natural gas stack to prevent peregrines and other birds from entering and getting trapped. We are so pleased - this will be an expensive endeavor, and while Xcel has been a great partner in peregrine recovery and management, we didn't expect this! They will be putting the screen up sometime in January.

That's great news; thanks Amy and Nora for letting us know, and thanks to Xcel for their commitment.  It's nice to be able to continue to watch the pair here at Blackdog.

YYIIPPEEEE!!!   Everytime I drove past the plant since I read the news that the box was going to be taken down (and I agreed with the decision for the safety of the peregrines), I was heartbroken.    No more broken heart!!!   Grin

This is wonderful news! Many thanks to Xcel Energy for everything they have done, and continue to do, for the falcons! They have been so supportive, and it's great that this nest will not be removed.

I think Mandy Rose agrees.

No Easter delivery here as at Red Wing, but Mandy Rose looks as if that Easter egg hunt was successful!
